Claudia’s Story: From Loss to a Future in Psychology

Claudia lost her mother at just four years old. Her father, frequently away traveling, was unable to care for his children consistently. By the time Claudia entered the children’s home at age 10, she had already experienced more loss and instability than most people face in a lifetime. But God had a different plan for her future.

At the home, Claudia found more than shelter. She found family. Papa Rick became the father figure she desperately needed, and Sandra stepped in as a mother — providing love, guidance, and unwavering support for both her studies and her emotional well-being.

“I had the guidance of a spiritual father, Rick, and a mother figure, Sandra, who gave me love, guidance, and support,” Claudia recalls. “They were always there for me.”

When it came time to choose a path after high school, it was Papa Rick who helped Claudia discover her calling. Inspired by the care she had received, she chose to study psychology — a field where she could one day pour into others the same way others had poured into her.

The support did not stop at graduation. Throughout the entire college application process, the home stood behind Claudia — financially, emotionally, and practically. Even after she moved out to begin her studies, they continued to check in, making sure she and her family were doing well.

Today, Claudia is about to complete her degree in psychology. She stands on the threshold of a career dedicated to helping others, and she knows exactly where she wants to use it.

“My future goal is to work in a children’s home to help other children, or to work as an organizational psychologist,” she says. “Without a doubt, your support has been crucial in my life and development.”

Claudia’s journey from a grieving child to a confident young professional is a testament to what becomes possible when a child is given consistent love, spiritual guidance, and the resources to succeed. Your generosity made her story possible.
