Ana’s Story: From Silence to University Dreams
Ana’s Story: From Silence to University Dreams
Introduction
When Ana arrived at Restoring Children International at age 9, she could not read or write and rarely spoke. Years of neglect had convinced her she was invisible. Today, at 21, Ana is attending university and mentoring younger girls at RCI.
This is Ana’s success story.
Her Background and Arrival at RCI
Ana was raised in a home marked by poverty and instability. School was never an option. When she came to RCI, she carried deep emotional wounds and little hope for the future.
Challenges She Faced
Learning basic literacy skills was difficult. Ana struggled with self-confidence and feared failure. Many nights, she cried herself to sleep, doubting she belonged anywhere.
Turning Points and Growth
With consistent encouragement from caregivers and teachers, Ana began to believe in herself. She discovered a love for learning and a gift for helping others.
Education Journey
Ana completed primary and secondary school with strong academic results and earned a scholarship to attend university.
Current Life and Career
Today, Ana is studying social work and dreams of helping vulnerable children in Peru.
Her Message to Donors
“Because of RCI, I know my life has purpose.”
